AmeriHealth Caritas New Hampshire Boosts its NCQA’s Medicaid Health Plan Ratings
November 21, 2022 - Manchester, N.H.
AmeriHealth Caritas New Hampshire, a managed care organization serving New Hampshire Medicaid enrollees and part of the AmeriHealth Caritas Family of Companies, announced it earned a 3.5 out of 5 rating in the National Committee for Quality Assurance's (NCQA) Medicaid Health Plan Ratings 2022, an improvement from its 3.0 out of 5 rating in 2021.
"We take great care to understand the needs of our members, so that we can continually improve their health outcomes and experience." said AmeriHealth Caritas New Hampshire Market President Bill Keena. "Our improved rating underscores our excellence in member-focused care, addressing their barriers to care and addressing social determinants of health as a whole impacting Medicaid members throughout the Granite State."
AmeriHealth Caritas New Hampshire's 3.5 out of 5 rating is based on results from the Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS®), a tool that measures performance on important dimensions of care and service, as well as the Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS®) survey, which measures members' satisfaction with their overall health care experience.
"AmeriHealth Caritas News Hampshire's improved rating reflects its effectiveness in providing members with access to the services and supports they need," said AmeriHealth Caritas Family of Companies Executive Vice President and Corporate Chief Medical Officer Dr. Karen Amstutz. "This is accomplished in large part by the plan's many community programs that help address social barriers to care and help manage long-term health outcomes, as well as the plan's extra benefits and robust provider network."
